Image to Prompt – Screenshot & Reverse (“the Extension”, “we”, “us”) is a Chrome extension that turns an image you choose into a text prompt that could recreate it. This policy explains exactly what data the Extension handles, where it goes, how long it is kept, and how you can delete it. We have written it to be complete and literal: it discloses everything the Extension does, and it does not claim anything the Extension does not do.
If a term here appears to conflict with what the Extension actually does, treat the more data-protective reading as binding and contact us.
We collect only the image content you actively submit — by right-clicking an image, by dragging a screenshot region, or by using the capture shortcut — and we use it solely to generate a prompt for that image. We do not capture images, screens, or page content in the background, and we do not collect anything from a page unless you have deliberately triggered a generation on it.
To produce a prompt, the image data you submit is sent over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection to our backend, which forwards it to a third-party AI analysis service, the Google Gemini API, for the sole purpose of analysing that image and returning prompt text. No other destination receives your image. Your use of this analysis is subject to Google's applicable terms and privacy practices for the Gemini API.
Your generation history (image thumbnails and their generated prompts) is stored only in your own browser, in the Extension's local storage. It is not uploaded to our servers. It never leaves your device except as part of the live generation request described in Section 2, and it is visible only to you in this browser profile.
When you sign in with Google, our server stores only:
Apart from the anti-abuse data described in Section 7, we store no other personal information on our servers. Your login session credential is kept only locally on your device (in the Extension's isolated storage, readable only by this Extension) and is transmitted only over HTTPS; we do not persist your Google OAuth token on our servers.
To honour the guarantee that a generation you were charged a credit for reliably returns its result — and is automatically refunded on failure or timeout — the generated prompt text may be held in a short-lived server-side cache, keyed to that single request, for up to 10 minutes, after which it is automatically deleted. This cache holds prompt text only; the image itself is never stored on our servers. This is the only situation in which prompt output touches our servers at rest, and only briefly.
You are in control of your data:
After account deletion we retain only two one-way hashes, neither of which can be reversed to reveal your identity or any personal information:
We do not collect your browsing history, bookmarks, form data, personal identity documents, or payment card information, and we do not collect any information unrelated to the Extension's function.
The source IP address of sign-up and generation requests is used only for rate-limit counting, to protect the free trial credits and the service from abuse. It is retained for no more than 30 days and is not used for any other purpose.
Payments are processed by Stripe. We never receive or store your raw credit card information — it is handled entirely by Stripe under its own terms and privacy policy. Our server stores only your subscription status and the credit records described in Section 4.
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the “Last updated” date above and publish the revised policy at the same URL. Continued use of the Extension after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
